My Lord,

I have the honour to acknowledge the

receipt of Your Lordship's Despatch No. 327 of the 27th June regarding the pension granted to Mr. G. Sim.

2.

The point raised by Mr. Sim was anticipat-

-ed in the discussion on the matter in the Executive Council,

and I enclose a copy of the minute recording the Council'g

decision. The recomendation was that Mr. Sim should be paid

a fixed sum of money calculated in a certain way, and the

alteration in the pension rules is therefore immaterial.
